Selma Bora is a senior International Relations and Global Studies major focusing on Europe as a region, and specializing in international security. She is also part of the Business Foundation Program at the McCombs School of Business. Selma served as a teaching assistant at the University of Texas Panamerican, and has been working with the Center for Australian and New Zealand Studies as a Research Intern collecting data from the High Court of Australia. She is an active member of the Central Texas Model of United Nations and is currently an officer in Bend Bandits, a UT organization whose goal is to provide free dance classes to low income middle school students who live in Austin, Texas. Her interest in human rights arose as she constantly witnessed human rights abuses in some communities of Chiapas, Mexico, where she grew up. After graduation, Selma is planning to travel, learn another language and attend graduate school.
