Shivangi Ojha is a senior at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in International Relations & Global Studies with minors in Art History, Global Management, and a Bridging Disciplines Program certificate in Nonprofits & Social Entrepreneurship. Passionate about the intersections of global politics, art & media, and social justice, she is committed to amplifying marginalized communities through hands-on community engagement in the social impact sector.

Her professional experience spans across a diverse array of nonprofit settings, from amplifying the Brennan Center for Justice’s voting rights and democracy programs via donor outreach, to grant-writing for domestic violence aid programs at Asian Family Support Services of Austin, and to supporting the Mexic-Arte Museum’s funding of art education programs for low-income schools in Central Texas. Through her coursework and independent projects, Shivangi has further explored the importance of NPOs and NGOs in bridging the people, the government, and institutions to advocate for social justice issues.

Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, Shivangi also serves as Co-Service Director of Texas Orange Jackets, the oldest honorary female and non-binary service & spirit organization at UT. As a part of this role, she directly engages with the needs of foster care youth in Austin by organizing weekly service opportunities with the Settlement Home for Children.

Shivangi plans to pursue a career in nonprofit development and foundational philanthropy, working to provide the funding and resources for NPOs to make an impact in our communities.
