Sivakumaren (Robin) Mardemootoo

Robin Mardemootoo is the Managing Partner of Mardemootoo Solicitors, where he also heads the Banking, Corporate Finance and Commercial practices. He holds a “Maitrise en Droit” (First Class) from the University of Aix-Marseille III Faculty of Law, Aix-en-Provence, France. He also holds a Master of Laws, Magna Cum Laude, (LL.M) from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. He was admitted to practice as an Attorney/Solicitor in Mauritius in 1997. He is a member of the Mauritius Law Society, the International Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

As a law practitioner, he specialises in securities regulations and laws related to banking, corporate finance, cross-border investments, international taxation. He has a special interest for international litigation and arbitration. He has been ranked as ‘Leading Lawyer’ by several online resources for professionals in financial law including IFLR, Chambers & Partners and Legal 500.

Robin is also the founder of SPEAK Human Rights & Environmental Initiative. SPEAK, the pro-bono arm of MS, is a stand-alone organization dedicated to promoting international human rights worldwide through litigation and education.
