Professor Amr Shalakany of the American University in Cairo, Egypt, presented a talk entitled, “Comparative Law as Archeology: On Sodomy, Islamic Law and the Human Rights Activist.” Professor Shalakany served as legal advisor to the PLO Negotiations Support Unit in Ramallah during the Israeli-Palestinian Peace Process and has taught at Harvard Law School and Birzeit University.
