On Thursday, November 9th, the Rapoport Center co-sponsored a speaker event entitled, “Weaving Consciousness: Women and Indigenous Identity in Chiapas, Mexico.” Celia Santiz Ruiz, founding member of the Mayan women’s weaving cooperative, Jolom Mayaetik, spoke about her experiences as an indigenous woman living in Chiapas, Mexico.
