“Year of the Tiger” Virtual Performance and Talkback
On behalf of the Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice and the Office of the Vice President for Research at the University of Texas at Austin, you are invited to join us for Year of the Tiger, a virtual performance and Talkback.
Presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance, Year of the Tiger creatively combines interviews with workers impacted by the pandemic, viral videos, official declarations, and — a tiger. The show blends fact and fiction as it explores not only the impact of COVID-19 worldwide, but also civil unrest, police brutality and the Trump administration’s war with truth.
The talkback is co-sponsored by the Rapoport Center and part of our inter-disciplinary and cross-campus Pop-Up Institute, “Beyond the Future of Work: New Paradigms for Addressing Global Inequality,” supported by the Office of the Vice President for Research, contributing to our conversations within both the “essential work” and “future of artistic labor” research clusters.
7:30-8:30PM CST | Virtual Performance
8:30-9:30PM CST | Talkback

NOTE ON TALKBACK: If you prefer to watch the performance on the 24th or the 27th you can still join us for the Talkback event on the 25th with the same flexible ticket! The event will be streamed live directly after the Thursday show.
