Summer Human Rights Fellows

Allison Kaplan Fink (B.A. 2008, Clemson University; M.G.P.S. 2011, LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin; J.D. expected 2023) will be interning remotely with the Centre for Natural Resource Governance (CNRG) in Harare, Zimbabwe this summer, as a Berta Cáceres Human Rights Fellow. CNRG defends the rights of communities affected by the destructive character of extractive (mining) industries. Allison is inspired by CNRG's commitment to helping local tribal communities to preserve their land rights in the face of large industrial companies. During her time at Texas Law, she has participated in pro bono clinics and Women's Law Caucus events. Prior to law school, Allison worked for a total of eight years as an environmental planner at an engineering firm and as a facilities planner with Travis County. After law school, she intends to combine her knowledge from her prior career with her J.D. to work in real estate.
