Granito: How to Nail a Dictator
Location: UT Austin School of Law
Granito: How to Nail a Dictator, an award-winning documentary film chronicling Guatemala’s internal armed conflict and subsequent efforts to bring the perpetrators of massive human rights violations during that period to justice, was screened at the UT School of Law on December 1, 2011.
Peter Kinoy, one of the filmmakers, participated in a Q&A session following the film.
The free, public screening launched the conference Politics of Memory: Guatemala’s National Police Archive, also held at the UT School of Law, which discussed the role played by archives in a deeper understanding of history and potential approaches to human rights.
