Jill Applegate wrote an essay for the New York Times about marijuana convictions and deportation. Applegate is an immigration attorney and fellow at the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem, where she represents clients with deportation orders.

Courtlyn Ward has been selected to The National Black Lawyers’ “Top 40 Under 40 in Texas” list. Ward is an associate at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP, where she focuses on government enforcement and investigations and commercial litigation matters.
Kaitie Sorenson has joined the Houston office of Beck Redden LLP as an associate and will work in the areas of appellate and commercial litigation. While at Texas Law, Sorenson served as editor-in-chief of the Texas Law Review.
