Description

This seminar will principally cover John Rawls's theory of justice and some of the most influential criticisms and alternatives to it. We will begin with portions of Rawls's A Theory of Justice, then take up well-known criticisms from libertarian, communitarian, and feminist political theorists, among others, and end with discussion of some changes to the theory Rawls made in his later work Political Liberalism.
