Description

This course will explore the legal issues involved when drafting, negotiating and enforcing software licenses as well as unique legal issues raised by video games and other software-based interactive entertainments. The course will consists of a series of class meetings that correspond to the main provisions of a software license (license grant, indemnification, warranties, etc.) and focus on the way the law has developed in each area. In addition, special issues related to video game terms of use, user generated content and similar concerns will be covered. STUDENTS WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED THE "SOFTWARE LICENSING" SEMINAR CANNOT REPEAT THIS COURSE FOR CREDIT.
