Description

This course addresses the doctrines and policies that shape and limit the power of federal courts. Topics include justiciability, congressional control over the jurisdiction of the federal courts, the subject-matter jurisdiction of the district courts, state sovereign immunity, abstention, the Anti-Injunction Act, the law applied to state-law claims, and federal common law.
