Description

In this class, we will explore the law, regulations and public policy that underpin the development, extraction, and harnessing of Texas' energy related natural resources, both fossil and renewable, as well as the generation, transmission and retail delivery of and electricity. Particular focus will be on the industries overseen by the Texas Railroad Commission, the Public Utility Commission of Texas, and ERCOT. Additional focus will relate to EPA regulations which affect energy extraction and power generation, such as the 'Clean Power Plan.'
