Description
A study of the history and development of administrative law and its current role in, and impact on, the lives of citizens and businesses in Texas. Governmental regulation within Texas will be addressed, with some discussion of the differences between federal and Texas administrative law. Primary emphasis is given to Texas administrative practice and procedure, with an analysis of the powers and procedures common to Texas agencies with state-wide jurisdiction that are subject to the provisions of the Texas Administrative Procedures Act. Particular focus is given to rule-making, contested case proceedings, and judicial review by the courts over such agency actions.Instructors
