Description

This seminar explores intersections between the United States' patent and antitrust laws, including the roles of patent rights and competition in fostering economic development, antitrust counterclaims in patent litigation, and concerns with the potential anti-competitive effects of restrictive patent licensing, patent pools, and patent dispute settlements. Students will be expected to participate in class discussion, to write short papers reacting to assigned readings, and to write a longer paper to satisfy the seminar writing requirement.
