This is a survey course on lawyers' professional responsibilities. It covers a range of topics that are central to the field, including the creation of the professional (client-lawyer) relationship, confidentiality, and conflicts of interests. It also addresses topics of special interest to me that usually receive less attention in a survey course, including insurance defense arrangements, lawyers responsibilities in multiple-client representations and settlements, and fee awards.
This course fulfills the Professional Responsibility requirement for graduation. Grades will be based on a final exam.
