Description

This seminar will examine the regulation of financial markets--those in securities, banking, currencies and financial commodities--using as a point of departure an inquiry into the markets themselves and the classes of participants in those markets, and concentrating significantly on the different powers and styles of regulation and their impact on behavior. The discussion will cover both U.S. and foreign markets, using the US model of regulation as a base for comparative analysis. Particular attention will be devoted to the significant revisions to financial markets regulation currently pending in the US Congress.
