This seminar explores the structure of United States patent law, and the roles of patent rights and competition in fostering innovation. Students will be expected to participate in class discussion, to provide short written reactions to assigned readings, and to write a longer paper to satisfy the seminar writing requirement. No courses are required as prerequisites.
