The course will focus on agreements among oil companies, including lease assignments, farmouts, and joint operating agreements. It will consider the changes that need to be made in traditional agreements, which were drafted in the context of vertical wells, in order to conform them to horizontal drilling and fracing operations. Some time will be spent on environmental issues including those raised by fracing.
