Description
A practice-oriented approach to copyright (and related legal doctrines) in traditional and "new" media, from both a transactional and litigation perspective: ownership, rights management, conveyancing, licensing and dispute resolution in the music, book, tech, film, gaming and other IP-driven and 'online' industries, drawing together copyright, right of publicity, trademark, trade secret and related principles; includes drafting, statutory termination, bankruptcy law implications and due diligence strategies; consideration of 1909 Act principles for pre-1978 works under U.S. law; choice of law and multinational treatment. Prerequisites: basic intellectual property course, or strong interest or background in related fields by permission of Professor.Textbooks ( * denotes required )
