Description
This three-hour course is designed to introduce the basics of Texas Family Law covering both the rights and responsibilities of parents regarding their children on the dissolution of the marriage as well as marital property rights. A one hour class on Thursday each week will focus on marriage laws and laws regarding the parent-child relationship. A two hour class on Friday each week will focus on laws regulating separate and community property, including marital claims, plus the disposition of marital property (primarily upon divorce). Emphasis is on the practical effects of divorce, particularly the economic consequences to the parties and their children. The class is taught with the Turning Point polling response-ware.
