Description

This is a course in Conflict of Laws. Conflict of Laws addresses issues that may arise when a dispute has connections with more than one state or country. The subject is generally divided into three interrelated parts: (1) territorial jurisdiction (and related doctrines), (2) choice of law, and (3) recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments. This short course, Jurisdiction and Judgments, focuses on territorial jurisdiction, forum non conveniens, forum selection clauses, and the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments. Course meets 8/26-10/14.

Wollters Kluwer , edition: Either the 6th or 7th edition is acceptable for Jurisdiction & Judgments, but if you are planning to take Conflict of Laws in the spring, you should purchase the 7th edition.
