Description
This seminar will be a study of philosophical questions concerning punishment and responsibility in the criminal law. These questions include the nature of punishment in the law, its justification, the compatibility of criminal responsibility with a scientific world view, and the compatibility of mens rea as a condition of criminality with deterrence as an aim of punishment.Textbooks ( * denotes required )
