Description
This course is intended to help prepare students for a clerkship with a federal district or magistrate judge. It is taught by an active federal magistrate judge, who also clerked for a federal district judge. It is only open to students who have accepted a federal trial court clerkship. It covers the common issues you will encounter as a clerk, and how to research and write about those issues. You will draft bench memos, prepare orders, and analyze legal issues using real case files. This is a two-credit, pass/fail course.
