Arleas Upton Kea

Arleas Upton Kea ’82 is the former deputy to the chairman, deputy for external affairs, and chief operating officer of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. A native Texan, she earned both her J.D. and B.A. degree with honors from the University of Texas at Austin. She also holds certificates from the Program of Instruction for Lawyers at Harvard Law School and the Program for Senior Leaders in Government at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

Upton Kea was honored by the Texas Law Alumni Association as the Outstanding Alumna in 2024. She served as president and chair of the Texas Exes in 2025-26.
