Biography

I have co-taught Patent Litigation at Texas Law since 2019 as an Adjunct Professor.  I keep a full-time litigation practice that focuses on patent trials in federal court, appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and adversarial proceedings before Patent & Trademark Office.

I am a courtroom attorney who works on technology cases, mainly intellectual property disputes. I typically work on patent infringement trials and appeals, but I have experience in other areas as well, including serving as trial counsel in a recent antitrust jury trial.  I served as a law clerk to three federal judges and have served as a court-appointed technical advisor.

I regularly brief and argue Federal Circuit appeals (11 since 2014). At trial, I have examined witnesses (direct and cross) and presented closing arguments.  I have taken or defended over 100 depositions.  I have argued all types of pretrial hearings in patent cases, including over 15 Markman hearings since 2015.

I have also worked on matters involving antitrust claims, contract claims, legal malpractice, personal injury, and claims against international banks under the Anti-Terrorism Act.  In addition to representing private clients, I tried fifteen jury trials as a volunteer prosecutor for the City of Houston.
