Christopher Mark Weimer

Chris Weimer ’09 is a partner at Pirkey Barber in Austin, where he focuses on trademark, unfair competition, trade secret, and copyright law. He has broad experience litigating in state and federal courts, as well as the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. In addition, Weimer advises on IP portfolio management and enforcement strategy for clients across a wide range of industries, from consumer products, to hospitality, real estate, financial products, petrochemicals, and software development. Clients appreciate his practical, cost-conscious advice and focus on their business objectives.

Fluent in Spanish, Weimer has assisted clients in litigation, investigations, and foreign proceedings as bilingual counsel, coordinating Spanish-language witness interviews, depositions, and document review. He regularly advises foreign clients in domestic proceedings and assists U.S. companies seeking to assert their rights abroad.

Weimer has acted to protect client’s rights in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings and has litigated numerous commercial disputes involving claims such as fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and breach of contract.

Weimer earned his J.D. with high honors from The University of Texas School of Law, where he served as an articles editor for the Texas Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. He was also a member of the U.S.–Mexico Bar Association (Texas Law chapter) and served as the society coordinator for the Gus Hodges Society. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History and American Studies from Wesleyan University.
