Bryan Jones

Bryan Jones ’05 is a software executive with experience across private equity–backed, publicly traded, and startup companies. Most recently, he was CEO of LINQ, a mission-critical platform for K-12 school districts. Before that, Jones was COO of Auctane, the global shipping and logistics software company that owns well-known e-commerce brands like ShipStation and Stamps.com. He co-founded Get Healthy, b.well Connected Health, and Collider Media. Jones began his career as a corporate securities attorney with DLA Piper.

As an adjunct professor at Texas Law, he teaches courses on propaganda, deception, and manipulation in the technology era, drawing from his experience at Collider Media, where he became an expert in targeted media, cross-device targeting, location-based advertising, consumer privacy and data collection, and disinformation and propaganda.

Jones also spends significant time at the intersection of democracy and technology. He is the co-founder and chairman of Tech Policy Press, the leading media platform exploring the intersection of technology and policy. He also served as chairman of the board of Stand Up Republic, a nonprofit that advocates for government reform to defend and strengthen American democracy.

Jones earned a BS in engineering, an MBA, and a JD, all from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a former world and American record holder in swimming, a U.S. national champion, and competed for the United States at two World Championships, the Pan Ams, the Pan Pacs, and the Goodwill Games. A 22-time All-American for the University of Texas Men's Swimming and Diving team, he captained it to the 2000 NCAA Championship before swimming professionally for four years. He is also an Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. In 2018, he was named an Outstanding Young Texas Ex.
