Graham B. Strong

Professor Strong began his teaching career at the University of Virginia School of Law, where he taught for seven years, and has been a Visiting Professor at a number of law schools across the nation, including UCLA, Cornell, George Washington, Wake Forest, San Diego, Santa Clara and the University of Richmond.  At Texas Law he has been selected by student vote as the Professor of the Year four times, and once as the Distinguished Senior Lecturer of the Year. He was also named Professor of the Year at the Santa Clara University School of Law and twice received the Award for Excellence in Teaching at the University of San Diego School of Law.  He chaired the AALS Section on Clinical Legal Education, and proposed and initiated the formation of the independent Clinical Legal Education Association (which now has more than 1900 members). Before beginning his teaching career, Professor Strong was a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Virginia, an E. Barrett Prettyman Fellow at Georgetown University Law Center, and served both as a Special Assistant United States Attorney and as a criminal defense attorney in the District of Columbia. Professor Strong teaches and writes in the fields of Evidence, Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure. For the 2025-26 academic year, he is a recipient of the Jalonick Centennial Lectureship, a university-wide award for sustained excellence in classroom teaching.
