Jessica L. Mangrum

Judge Mangrum has presided over the 200th District Court in Travis County since January 2021. She hears civil and family cases. Judge Mangrum was previously a partner with the Austin office of Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, L.L.P. She handled a diverse trial docket including handling personal injury, products liability, construction defect, professional liability, and other civil cases. Since 2017, she has been Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Construction Law.
Judge Mangrum is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, where she currently is an adjunct professor in Trial Advocacy. She also serves on the Editorial Board of The Advocate: State Bar Litigation Section Report and is a member of the State Bar of Texas Rules Committee.
Judge Mangrum is a former Director of the Austin Young Lawyers Association, the Austin Bar Association, and a past chair of the Travis County Women Lawyers Foundation. She is currently a Master in the Lloyd Lochridge Inn of Court.
Judge Mangrum has been a past chair of the Bench Bar Committee and the Legal Build Committee. She has worked as a volunteer or committee member for numerous projects of the Austin Bar Association and AYLA.
