Joshua J. Bruckerhoff

Joshua Bruckerhoff ’07 is a partner at Reid Collins & Tsai. He appears in federal and state courts across the country representing bankruptcy trustees, offshore liquidators, hedge funds, and large corporations in high-stakes litigation against directors and officers, law firms, banks, auditors, and recipients of fraudulent transfers. Bruckerhoff is one of the top 500 lawyers in America according to Lawdragon. He has also been recognized by Benchmark Litigation and the National Law Journal.

Bruckerhoff is known for finding innovative solutions to complex cases. For instance, he developed the arguments that resulted in a landmark victory in the Seventh Circuit concerning the scope of section 546(e) of the Bankruptcy Code. The U.S. Supreme Court, in Merit Management Group v. FTI Consulting, affirmed the Seventh Circuit’s ruling, opening new avenues of recovery for bankruptcy trustees across the country. Bruckerhoff devotes a significant portion of his practice to bringing legal-malpractice claims.

Bruckerhoff is one of the leading members of the team at Reid Collins & Tsai that has successfully settled claims against many of the AmLaw 200 law firms. He also has broad experience handling cross-border matters. He has pursued both U.S. and foreign-law claims on behalf of liquidators in the context of Chapter 15 proceedings.
