Maro Robbins

Maro Robbins teaches legal analysis and communication, persuasive writing, and advocacy. Before joining the faculty at Texas Law, he was a supervising attorney at the Office of Capital and Forensic Writs (OCFW), the statewide public defender agency that represents people on Texas’ Death Row in state habeas proceedings. There, he also represented habeas applicants whose cases involved flawed forensic science and were referred by the Texas Forensic Science Commission. Prior to OCFW, he represented adults and juveniles charged with various offenses, from misdemeanors to murder, as a staff attorney in the trial division of the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia.

He received his MSL as a Knight Journalism Fellow at Yale Law School and J.D. from Georgetown Law School. Prior to law school, he worked as a newspaper reporter in San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley covering courts and legal affairs.
