Biography

An expert on the law of evidence, Professor Wellborn played a key role in the drafting of the Texas Rules of Evidence. He is the author or co-author of several books, including Courtroom Evidence Handbook (West Academic, 23rd student ed. 2020-2021), Courtroom Handbook on Texas Evidence (Thomson Reuters, 27th ed. 2020), Courtroom Handbook on Federal Evidence (Thomson Reuters, 26th ed. 2020), Cases and Materials on Torts (West Academic, 5th ed. 2017), Cases and Materials on the Rules of Evidence (West Academic, 8th ed. 2020), and Guide to the Texas Rules of Evidence (Thomson Reuters, 4th ed. vols. 1 & 2, 2016), as well as the author of a number articles, including "Demeanor" (Cornell Law Review, 1991). He has been a Visiting Professor at Harvard Law School and the University of Michigan Law School.
