Timothy Tyler '94 has taught commercial arbitration and investor-state arbitration as an adjunct professor for almost 20 years. Professor Tyler's legal career experience primarily revolves around large cross-border disputes in international arbitrations and related court litigation. After clerking for Justice Nathan L. Hecht, he practiced at Mayer Brown & Platt and Vinson & Elkins.
After graduating from UT Law School and clerking for (then) Justice Nathan L Hecht, I started my career at (then) Mayer Brown & Platt (in Houston). After I left Mayer Brown, I worked at Vinson & Elkins (in Houston).
I have worked almost exclusively in commercial and investor-state arbitration for about a quarter century. Most work has been large cross-border disputes, and, mostly, in international arbitrations and related court litigation.
I have taught commercial arbitration since Fall 2005 and investor-state arbitration since 2009.
