Ambassador Ronald K. McMullen, Diplomat in Residence at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, will speak about foreign service career opportunities, including those with the U.S. Department of State. This will be an informal event with a chance for you to ask your own questions on the topic. The State Department offers nearly 900 internships each summer, both in Washington and abroad. To qualify, applicants must be U.S. citizens and plan to be enrolled in the semester following their internship, i.e., in the Fall 2013 semester. All are welcomed to apply, including speakers of hard languages, veterans, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, first-generation college students, women, and individuals who have overcome significant obstacles to get where they are. Lunch will be served. RSVP by Wednesday, September 7, on UT Law Symplicity by selecting the "Events" tab. If you are a 1L or LL.M. student, you may RSVP to Victor Garcia at vgarcia@law.utexas.edu.

Sign up to meet with the Ambassador McMullen: Students interested in meeting with Ambassador Robert McMullen one-on-one to discuss opportunities at the U.S. Department of State after his presentation can sign up for a 10-minute meeting. Meetings will be held from 12:40-2:40 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, in the Career Services Interview Suite.
