In 2014 President Obama announced two new immigration initiatives: an expansion of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA+) and the creation of Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (DAPA). Texas and 25 other states filed a lawsuit to stop them from being enacted, and when the case reached the Supreme Court it ended in a 4-4 tie that lead to both DACA+ and DAPA from being enacted.

Join the Texas Law chapter of the American Constitution Society for a discussion with Nina Perales, Vice President of Litigation at MALDEF, on the future of DACA+ and DAPA . Lunch will be provided.

Specific audiences:
  • Texas Law students
Sponsored by:
  • American Constitution Society
