Women's Bible Study with TLWCF

Please join us for breakfast, fellowship and studying God's Word! This semester, we will be reading through 1 John.

Our goal is to create a safe space for women interested in learning more about Christ through studying and applying God's Word in law school and beyond. Our Bible study is a place for Christian fellowship and encouragement, and women from all Christian faith traditions and denominations are welcome!

ABA Panel: Exploring Careers in Employee Benefits Law

The ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law, Employee Benefits Committee, will explore careers in the broad field of Employee Benefits Law. Panelists will discuss their legal careers and practices navigating the intersection between Labor Law, Employment Law, Trusts and Estates, Litigation and Counseling, Tax Law, Executive Compensation, and Administrative Law. They will explain why Employee Benefits Law has become one of the fastest growing areas of practice in the country.

Panelists include Phyllis Borzi, former Assistant Secretary of Labor, U.S. Department of Labor, Washington, D.C.; Claude Cazzulino, Schwartz Steinsapir Dohrmann & Sommers, Los Angeles CA; Marcelle J. Henry, Cohen Weiss & Simon, New York, NY; M’Alyssa Mecenas, Paul Hastings, Los Angeles, CA; and Michelle L. Roberts Bartolic, Roberts Bartolic LLP, Alameda, CA.

Lunch will be served. There will also be a free drawing for ABA swag and door prizes and a network session following the presentation.

The Law and Policy of the Trump Presidency

Join Texas Law faculty for a timely discussion series about law and policy issues that will arise from a Trump presidency: with one focused on domestic social policy (health care, the environment, civil rights, criminal procedure, etc.); one on domestic financial and economic policy (tax; Dodd-Frank; financial regulation; consumer protection; etc.); and one on foreign relations, national security, and immigration.

Volleybar Review

For the 49th Annual W. Page Keeton Law Week, the Texas Law Student Bar Association is bringing back Volleybar Review at Aussie's Grill and Beach Bar! The 4v4 sand volleyball tournament will begin at 7:00pm and all registration fees will go to Texas Law Fellowships. Teams are co-ed (at least one female), 4-6 players per team, and $10 per player. To register, please email eleviale@gmail.com with your team name and players' names and shirt sizes. Spots are limited!
