Ms. Lisa Kubiske, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for International Finance and Development, will be coming to UT Law to speak about the Economic Bureau’s work fighting corruption and encouraging governments to be open and transparent. In addition, she will discuss how the State Department works with various international financial institutions to promote economic growth and development.
Ms. Kubiske is a US diplomat with experience in Latin America, China/Hong Kong, and Washington D.C. She has also served as the US Ambassador to Honduras, Deputy Chief of Mission in Brazil, and Deputy Chief of Mission in the Dominican Republic.
Her experience includes serving as the Western Hemisphere Economics Director at the State Department; Officer in the State Department's Operations Center and Secretariat Staff; Investment Director and Negotiator at the United States Trade Representative's Office (USTR); chief of the Economic-Political Section at the United States Consulate General in Hong Kong; and additional work in Shanghai, China and in Mexico, DF, Mexico.
