Lunch and talk with Mark Greenberg, Migration Policy Institute, about immigration and public interest advocacy careers.
oin us on Friday, February 14 for an informal lunch and discussion with Mark Greenberg, senior fellow at the Migration Policy Institute in D.C. Mark will discuss immigrants and public benefits, other developments in immigration policies, and advocating for immigrants and low-income groups as a career path. Mark worked for many years at the Administration for Children and Families in the U.S. Department for Health and Human Services, which has responsibility for refugee resettlement and the unaccompanied children program. He also served as the executive director of the Georgetown Center on Poverty, Inequality, and Public Policy, and began his career as a legal services lawyer for ten years. Interested students can meet directly with Mark Greenberg, Senior Fellow at the Migration Policy Institute, after his lunch-time discussion [Title TBD by WWJC].
From 2009-17, Mr. Greenberg worked at the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. ACF includes the Office of Refugee Resettlement, which has responsibility for the refugee resettlement and unaccompanied children program, and has a strong research agenda relating to the programs under its jurisdiction. Among these are a wide range of human services programs, including Head Start, child care, child support, child welfare, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.
