Hosted annually by the Texas Law Career Services Office, Public Service Career Fair (PSCF) is the largest public service recruitment program for law students in Texas.

During both days of PSCF, which will be held Thursday, February 6-Friday, February 1, 2020, public interest and government employers will conduct on-campus interviews for paid and unpaid summer and permanent positions in the Career Services Interview Suite and around the rest of the law school.

On Thursday, February 6, certain employers will also host informational tables in the Law School's Susman Godfrey Atrium from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Representatives from dozens of public interest organizations and government agencies will be on hand to answer questions about what they do. Find out about volunteer opportunities, summer internships, and paid positions with a variety of nonprofits, legal services providers, and government agencies. All Texas Law students are encouraged to attend.

The Texas Law Professional Development Institute: Prepared For Practice is taught by industry experts and practicing attorneys, covering facets of new attorney professionalism most sought after by legal employers. Now in its ninth year, the five-week Institute is promoted widely to employers, many of whom contributed to its content. This must-attend program will help you prepare for your summer clerkship or postgraduate job. The program takes place on Thursdays (January 23-February 20, 2020) from 11:50 a.m.-12:50 p.m. Lunch will be served.

Online registration is open until noon on Wednesday, January 22, 2020.

Whether you're a 1L preparing for your first summer clerkship or the fall recruiting season, a 2L working to turn your summer clerkship or fellowship into an offer, or a graduating 3L getting a head start on your legal career, the Texas Law Professional Development Institute (PDI), which is presented each Spring, will help you be a more competitive candidate and a better lawyer.

Please note that 2Ls and 3Ls who attended last year may sign up for this year’s Institute.

Learn more about internship and postgraduate opportunities with the U.S. Department of Justice from Deanna Willis, Assistant Director, Attorney Recruitment and Management at the DOJ. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

All 1Ls are required to attend one of three Law School 101: Academic Advising sessions. The sessions occur on February 4, 5 and 6, at 3:30pm in TNH 2.138. We'll discuss graduation requirements, considerations in course selection, and the course selection process. After this session, all 1Ls are invited to schedule an appointment with their adviser (Dean Bangs, Brandi Welch or Rick Garza) to discuss specific course selection choices.

Public service employers and public service students are invited to take part in a happy hour as part of this year's Public Service Career Fair which will provide an opportunity for employers and students to mingle in a casual setting.
