Judicial Internships: Great Jobs for the Summer

Online

Texas Law 2Ls will discuss their summer judicial internship experiences and how they secured their positions during this live Zoom panel. Learn about judicial internships, the courts that have them, and how to apply. Panelists TBD.

There are hundreds of summer judicial internship opportunities available with municipal, state, and federal courts nationwide. Early December is a good time to send out applications and academic credit is available through the Judicial Internship Program for summer internships with eligible courts. This is a great opportunity for 1Ls and 2Ls alike!

Please RSVP by Monday, October 19, on Symplicity.

Free Speech and Economic Justice: A Conversation

Zoom

Join Professors Nelson Tebbe (Cornell Law) and Eugene Volokh (UCLA Law) for a conversation regarding how and whether current applications of free speech doctrines affect disparities in income, wealth, and other goods; whether those applications should be altered; and the disagreements and controversies arising from some of the proposed changes. Moderated by Texas Law Professor Steven Collis, this promises to be a spirited—but friendly!—dive into one of the most important issues of our time. We hope you can join us!

*Registration is required for this event. Please visit https://freespeechandeconomicjustice.eventbrite.com for registration details.

TJOGEL Roundtable Luncheon

Join TJOGEL and attorneys from Haynes and Boone for an hour of conversation regarding a multitude of topics, from the firm's position in the energy industry to how to be a great summer associate. This is a great networking opportunity, and it provides a chance to ask questions of practicing attorneys in an informal setting. Although these luncheons are primarily for 1Ls who want exposure to the industry, I encourage everyone to attend.

*Must be a member of the TJOGEL society to attend this event.
