This fall, Hurricanes Helene and Milton have served as powerful reminders of how devastating major storms can be—devastation that is only likely to grow more common with climate change. Natural disasters intersect with the legal system in surprising and important ways, shaping everything from who's impacted by storms to which communities can access recovery resources. Come hear Madison Sloan, the Director of the Disaster Recovery and Fair Housing Project at Texas Appleseed, and Brittanny Perrigue Gomez, the Team Manager for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid's Disaster Team discuss their work and the role of lawyers in disaster recovery.
