Join Law Students for Black Lives with Professors Heather Way and Kevin Haynes for an important conversation on the role of race in property law, focusing on the history and present-day realities of heirs' property. This form of ownership, where land is passed down informally through generations without a will, has disproportionately affected Black families in the United States, contributing to land loss, economic instability, and barriers to building generational wealth.

The discussion will highlight how law both shapes and reflects racial inequities in property rights, and why heirs' property remains a pressing issue in the pursuit of justice.
