This course will cover finance of commercial real estate projects, including loan commitments, loan agreements, promissory notes, mortgages and deeds of trust, foreclosure and other loan collection methods, a brief review of bankruptcy law applied to commercial real estate loans, and a brief exposure to securitized real estate finance. A traditional casebook will be used together with supplemental materials collected by the instructor. The plan for the final evaluation is a regular in classroom exam with true-false, multiple choice questions, and essays. It will have a three hour time limit and word limits for each essay question. Learning and relevant social opportunities beyond the classroom are offered.
