Biography

 

Kelly Haragan is a Clinical Professor at the University of Texas School of Law. She is Director of the Environmental Clinic and Co-Director of the Clinical Program. She joined the Clinic in 2008. Professor Haragan’s environmental practice focuses on collaborating with communities to address the adverse impacts of pollution and climate change. The Environmental Clinic works with clients on a variety of environmental matters including challenges to pollution permits, environmental enforcement actions, rulemaking petitions and challenges, civil rights complaints, National Environmental Policy Act actions, and efforts to secure safe drinking water and wastewater.

Prior to joining the Clinic, Kelly worked on environmental issues as counsel for nonprofits in Texas and Washington DC, including Public Citizen and the Environmental Integrity Project. She worked for five years for Henry, Lowerre, Johnson, Hess & Frederick (now Perales, Allmon & Ice), an environmental law firm in Austin. Kelly has been awarded the State Bar of Texas Poverty Law Section’s Impact Award, the Texas Low Income Housing Information Service’s Houser Award, and is a fellow in the American College of Environmental Lawyers.
