Professor Mullenix participated as a panelist commenting on "Rules-Based Approaches to the Problems and Issues Relating to Proposed Amendments to Fed. R. Civ. P. 23." This panel topic was part of a Class Action Conference, sponsored by the Committee on the rules of Practice and Procedure of the Judicial Conference of the United States, on October 21-22, 2001, in Chicago, Illinois. The Advisory Committee on Civil Rules has proposed two new additions to the class action rule, Rule 23(g) and (h), to codify principles relating to the appointment of counsel and attorney fees in class actions. Professor Mullenix served on an ABA Task Force, advising on the Rule 23 amendments proposed between 1991 - 97.
