Professor Mullenix spoke at the University of Texas's annual Supreme Court Roundup, on the Court's cases dealing with punitive damages and preemption doctrine. Her talk focused on two cases from the Court's last 2007-08 Term: Exxon Mobil v. Baker and Riegel v. Medtronic. Professor Mullenix's research and writing have included extensive commentary on punitive damages in federal practice, mass tort litigation, and class action litigation. She also has written extensively on preemption doctrine as it relates to federal-state relations, with implications for resolution of mass tort litigation in federal courts.
