Professor Mullenix presented a paper, "The Case for Enhanced Summary Judgment Prior to Class Certification," at the annual meeting of the Association of American Law Schools, on January 9, 2010, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The paper argues for judicial pre-class certification rulings on summary judgment motions, in order to enhance the efficiency and fairness of class action proceedings. The presentation was part of the Section on Litigation program on summary judgment. This paper subsequently will be published.
