Speaker and Panel Participant

Professor Mullenix was an invited speaker and panel participant at the Humphrey Center for Complex Litigation's Roundtable on Multidistrict Litigation. She gave a talk on empowering federal MDL judges to supervise proceedings and settlements through use of the All Writs Act. She participated in panels on "Limits on Judicial Participation in Settlement Discussions and Judicial Approval of Non-Class MDL Settlements;" and a separate panel on "Alternatives to MDL Practice." In this panel discussion, Professor Mullenix discussed developments in transational class action and colective redress mechanisms worldwide. The Roundtable included leading federal and state judges handling MDL and complex litigation; plaintiff and defense attornies; and academic scholars.
