A review of Prof. Michael Vitiello's book, Animating Civil Procedure (2017). Vitiello's book weaves a compelling procedural-justice argument around leading civil procedure cases decided by the Supreme Court in the last decade, focusing on decisions relating to jurisdiction, pleading, discovery, summary judgment, class actions, and arbitration clauses. The book also discusses the role of the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules in further constraining litigants' rights.
